Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about using the online dice roller.
Is Dice Roll Online truly random?
Yes. Results are generated using JavaScript's Math.random(), which modern browsers implement with a CSPRNG (Cryptographically Secure Pseudo-Random Number Generator). Each roll is statistically independent of all previous rolls.
Does this tool store my roll data?
No. Roll history exists only in your browser's memory for the current session. When you close or refresh the page the history is gone. We do not send any data to a server.
What dice types are available?
D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, D20, and D100 (percentile die). These cover the standard set used in Dungeons & Dragons and virtually all tabletop RPG systems.
Can I roll more than one die at once?
Yes. Use the slider on the main dice tool to roll 1 to 10 dice simultaneously. Each individual result is shown, plus the total sum.
What does 'advantage' mean in DnD?
When you have advantage on a D20 roll (in DnD 5e and similar systems), you roll two D20s and keep the higher result. Disadvantage means roll two, keep the lower. Use the D20 Roller page which has this built in.
What is a D100?
A D100 (also called a percentile die or d%) generates a random number from 1 to 100. In classic RPGs it was rolled using two D10s (one for tens, one for units). On this site you can roll D100 directly.
Can I reroll individual dice?
Yes. After a roll, each die result has a small reroll button. Click it to reroll just that die without changing the others — useful for Yahtzee-style games.
Is this tool free?
Completely free. There are no ads, no subscriptions, no tracking scripts. Dice Roll Online is a public utility.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The tool is fully responsive and touch-friendly. It works on all modern smartphones and tablets.
Who runs this site?
