Roll Dice Online

Virtual dice for D&D, tabletop RPGs, board games, and random decisions — no signup, no tracking.

What Is Dice Roll Online?

Dice Roll Online is a free browser-based dice roller that simulates physical dice for any game or decision. Choose from standard polyhedral dice — D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, D20, and D100 (percentile) — roll up to 10 dice at once, and instantly see every individual result plus the total sum. No apps to install, no account required.

When to Use a Virtual Dice Roller

  • Tabletop RPGs & DnD — Attack rolls, damage rolls, saving throws, ability checks. The D20 is your best friend.
  • Board games — Forgot your dice at home? Use the D6 roller alone or in pairs for classics like Monopoly, Yahtzee, or Catan.
  • Random decisions — Can't choose between options? Assign each one a number and roll for it.
  • Teaching probability — Demonstrate statistical distributions with live rolls directly in the classroom.
  • Game design & playtesting — Rapid dice simulation without physical props.

Which Dice Type Should You Pick?

This roller covers the full standard polyhedral set used in tabletop gaming:

  • D4 — four-sided, tetrahedron. Common for dagger and dart damage in D&D.
  • D6 — the classic cube. Board games (Monopoly, Catan, Yahtzee), most weapon damage dice, and general-purpose rolling.
  • D8 — eight-sided. Mid-tier weapon damage (longswords, battleaxes) in D&D 5e.
  • D10 — ten-sided, numbered 0–9. Used alone or paired with a second D10 to build a D100 roll.
  • D12 — twelve-sided. Barbarian greataxe damage in D&D, and some tabletop wargames.
  • D20 — the workhorse of d20-system RPGs: attack rolls, ability checks, saving throws. See the dedicated D20 Roller for built-in advantage/disadvantage.
  • D100 — percentile die, 1–100. Used for percentage-based skill checks in systems like Call of Cthulhu.

Dice Roller FAQ

Can I roll a D20 online for free?

Yes. Pick D20 from the dice type buttons above and roll instantly — no signup, no limits. For advantage and disadvantage rolls with automatic keep-highest/keep-lowest logic, use the dedicated D20 Roller.

How many dice can I roll at once?

Up to 10 dice of the same type in a single roll. You'll see every individual result plus the total sum, and you can reroll a single die without affecting the others.

Is there a 50-sided dice option?

There's no dedicated D50 button, since it isn't a standard polyhedral shape used in tabletop games. The common workaround is to roll the D100 and divide the result by two (rounding up), or treat 1–50 and 51–100 as two halves of a D100 roll.

Does this dice roller work for Dungeons & Dragons?

Yes — D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, D20, and D100 cover every die used in D&D 5e and other d20-system games. Attack rolls, damage dice, ability checks, and percentile rolls are all supported.

Is the result actually random?

Each roll uses your browser's built-in random number generator, producing a uniform, unpredictable distribution across all sides — statistically equivalent to a fair physical die. It's built for games and decisions, not for cryptographic or real-money gambling use.

Do I need to download an app?

No. Everything runs directly in your browser on any device — phone, tablet, or desktop. There's nothing to install and no account to create.
